【摘要】:ThescopeofthisTechnicalReportisthecategoriesofsoftware(includingrelevantsoftwaredevelopmentproductsanddata)thatareproducedbysoftwareengineeringprocesses.Itdescribesacategorizationschemeforsoftwarethatencompassesdifferentpointsofviewandsignificantcharacteristicsandattributesthatdescribeanddefinesoftwareandsoftwarecategories.1FieldofapplicationThefieldofapplicationoftheCategorizationofSoftwareincludessoftwareengineeringanditsassociatedstandards,software,data,andmethodologies.2AudienceandpurposeThisTechnicalReportisprimarilydirectedtowardsseveralaudiences:thesoftwareengineeringcommunity;theusersofsoftwareengineeringstandards,specificallythosedevelopedbyISO/IECJTC1/SC7;anddevelopersofsoftwareengineeringstandards,primarilySC7.ThepurposeorusageoftheCategorizationofSoftwareistheidentifyingofsoftwarecategories,identifyingofapplicablesoftwareengineeringstandardsforsoftware,anddeterminingtherelationshipofsoftwaretasks,processes,orproductstosoftwareengineeringstandards.TheuseoftheCategorizationofSoftwareisdefinedasthegenerationofajustifiableentryforeachoftheviewsspecifiedinClause7forthegivensoftwareproductorinamappingofasoftwareengineeringstandard.Insomecircumstancesanullentryisappropriate.Itoftenoccursthatthesoftwareengineeringprocesses,andtheproductsofthoseprocesses,applytotheprocurementordevelopmentofcertainkindsofsoftware.Forexample,ISO6592appliestolargeapplicationsystemsandISO9127appliestopackagedsoftware.ThisTechnicalReportprovidesacategorizationschemetoassistin(1)theunderstandingoftheareaofapplicationofastandardorsoftware,(2)theidentificationandselectionofstandardsapplicabletoasoftwareapplication,and(3)thepositioningofnewstandards.3LimitationsSincesoftwareengineeringisafastchangingfield,thecategorizationoutlinedhereincanonlybeaconceptualscheme.Users,therefore,shouldusejudgementwhenapplyingittoapplications.ThecategorizationschemeinthisTechnicalReportisempiricalinnature.Itsformulationisnotbasedonwell-defineduserneeds.Theschemehasnotbeenvalidatedinfieldtrials.
