【摘要】:Ethylsilicatezinc-richprimerscurebythereactionofthevehiclewithmoisture,therebyprovidingabinder.Asrelativehumidityandtemperaturevaryduringtheday,sodoestherateofcure.Acertainminimumdegreeofcureisnecessarypriortotopcoating.Ithasbeenshownthatthedegreeofcureofethylsilicatezinc-richprimerscanbemeasuredbythechemicalchangesoccurringusingdiffusereflectanceinfraredspectroscopy.2Thissolventrubtesthasbeenshowntocorrelatewellwiththeinfraredspectroscopicresultsofsometwo-componentethylsilicateinorganiczincsystems.Thecureratingrequiredfortheapplicationofspecifictopcoatsmustbeagreeduponbeforethetestmethodisused.1.1ThistestmethoddescribesasolventrubtechniqueforassessingtheMEKresistanceofethylsilicate(inorganic)zinc-richprimers.TheMEKresistanceofsometwo-componentethylsilicatezinc-richprimershasbeenshowntocorrelatewellwiththecureoftheprimerasdeterminedbydiffusereflectanceinfraredspectroscopy.Thetechniquecanbeusedinthelaboratory,field,orinthefabricatingshop.PracticeD5402isthepreferredmethodfororganiccoatings.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardstatementsaregiveninSection6.Consultsupplier'sMaterialSafetyDataSheet(s)forspecifichazardinformationrelatingtothesolventused.
